Welcome to Woodland Community College!

Dr. Fairchilds - Woodland Community College President I am proud to announce the accreditation of Woodland Community College as the 110th California Community College! The accreditation will help Woodland Community College transition from an education center to full college status and will help WCC expand student-centered services and academic programs necessary to meet the demands of the communities we serve.

Helping our students achieve their educational goal is the highest priority of our faculty and administration.  In order to help facilitate the educational goals of all our students, the College offers associate degrees in a variety of disciplines, provides transfer opportunity preparation services to students seeking admissions to four-year postsecondary institutions, and also provides supplemental services to support the development of professional, career, and technical education.  Pre-collegiate coursework, including services for English language learners and English as a Second Language (ESL), are also available to meet the academic and personal needs of our students.

A diverse schedule and different instructional services are available to meet the needs of our students.  Aside from the traditional lecture-style courses, the College offers online classes and distant education services by utilizing television broadcasting, interactive video, and web-based video-streaming at a variety of locations.  The scheduling options suits the needs of our students allowing them to select between day, evening, or weekend classes.

We have a range of student services on campus to support your success, including Counseling, Tutoring Center, Writing & Math Center, Disabled Students Programs and Services (DSP&S), Veterans Services, Financial Aid Office, Open Media Lab, Library, as well as Career and Transfer assistance. I encourage you to use the resources available to support your success and enrich your educational experience at WCC.  Remember, we are here to serve you!

Services at the Colusa One-Stop Outreach facilities in the City of Colusa continue to help facilitate the course offerings opportunities available to our students through a variety of convenient locations throughout the region. With plans of opening the new outreach facilities in 2010/2011, Colusa County will experience an expansion of services and programs necessary to meet the regional needs of our community.

This catalog is as an excellent source of information and I invite you to use this information in developing an educational plan that meets your needs.  As an addition to this resource, I also encourage you to access other helpful resources by visiting the campus web site, www.woodland.yccd.edu.

Again, welcome to Woodland Community College! We appreciate you choosing us to help you realize your plans for academic growth and your continued life-long learning.
